This course is for adults who want to develop or improve their drawing skills. Challenge yourself by experimenting with different techniques such as cross etching and materials such as charcoal. Gypsum models and still life compositions will be used in a range of drawing exercises to study and apply techniques of light, dimension, proportions and composition. Studio Owner and Art Teacher Yana Farmer provides individual guidance to help each participant build skill proficiency. Suitable for beginners and those who want to advance their work.
Students in this class practice machine sewing and a bit of hand sewing skills while creating fun and useful projects. Lessons will include sewing machine anatomy & safe operation, essential hand stitches, fabric properties, seam awareness, steam pressing, marking and cutting fabric with a rotary cutter & shears, basic measuring for drafting simple shapes, working with patterns and templates, construction planning, finishing techniques, & mistake recovery. Small class sizes ensure personal attention from Sewing Teacher and focus on supporting individual skill and knowledge building.
Our highly popular Adult class emphasizes the social aspect of learning, creating, and celebrating Art with others. The small class size allows for the personal, individual attention from Studio Owner and Art Teacher Yana Farmer. The primary focus of the morning class is on painting with acrylics on canvas, although other media can be introduced, and projects typically take more than one week to complete. Learn new Art skills, grow your artistic abilities, and socialize in a friendly, personable atmosphere.

Attendance policy: Due to the nature and continuous presentation and refinement of new skills and techniques covered in these program, we ask that students do their very best to attend all classes within a session. At the end of the session, there will be a makeup opportunity for anyone who has missed a class for whatever reason within that session. We will no longer be issuing credits or refunds when two or more classes are missed due to student schedule conflicts or illness. Students who are aware that they might miss two or more classes should discuss the situation with the Studio prior to registering for the class.
