Art for Adults
Academic Drawing for Beginners

This course is for adults who want to develop or improve their drawing skills. Challenge yourself by experimenting with different techniques such as cross etching and materials such as charcoal. Gypsum models and still life compositions will be used in a range of drawing exercises to study and apply techniques of light, dimension, proportions and composition. Studio Owner and Art Teacher Yana Farmer provides individual guidance to help each participant build skill proficiency. Suitable for beginners and those who want to advance their work.

Glass Mosaic Art
Beginner and returning adult students will learn and create Glass Mosaic Art by fashioning a beautiful, unique Mosaic design on a decorative terra-cotta plate and decorate a stone for displaying on their front yard.

Our students will learn extensively about Mosaic and Stained Glass materials and techniques, some glass cutting tools will be involved.

Stained Glass Art for Beginners
Stained glass art can capture light in fascinating and magical ways. For those adults who are new to Stained Glass Art and want to learn how it is done from beginning to end, this is the perfect place for you. During this popular course, each participant will complete a Stained Glass Suncatcher project of easy to moderate difficulty.  Taught within our exclusive Glass Art Studio space, our class size is kept small with the focus on having fun with Stained Glass and learning to do it well.  Tools and equipment for cutting, grinding and soldering are provided, as well as selection of Stained Glass, solder, copper foil and flux.

Sewing Art Class

Students in this class practice machine sewing and a bit of hand sewing skills while creating fun and useful projects. Lessons will include sewing machine anatomy & safe operation, essential hand stitches, fabric properties, seam awareness, steam pressing, marking and cutting fabric with a rotary cutter & shears, basic measuring for drafting simple shapes, working with patterns and templates, construction planning, finishing techniques, & mistake recovery. Small class sizes ensure personal attention from Sewing Teacher and focus on supporting individual skill and knowledge building.

Tea & Art Club

Our highly popular Adult class emphasizes the social aspect of learning, creating, and celebrating Art with others. The small class size allows for personal, individual attention from an experienced Art Teacher who will guide you through your own project or offer medium, technique and project ideas. The primary focus of the club is painting with acrylics on canvas and watercolor paint. Also other medium such as oil paint, charcoal, pencil, oil or dry pastel might be introduced in order to help you discover your unique way to express yourself and have a wonderful experience!

Attendance policy: Due to the nature and continuous presentation and refinement of new skills and techniques covered in these program, we ask that students do their very best to attend all classes within a session. At the end of the session, there will be a makeup opportunity for anyone who has missed a class for whatever reason within that session.  We will no longer be issuing credits or refunds when two or more classes are missed due to student schedule conflicts or illness. Students who are aware that they might miss two or more classes should discuss the situation with the Studio prior to registering for the class.
