HOMESCHOOL MULTIMEDIA ART CLASS
Multimedia Art for Homeschoolers
Especially for homeschool students who can come to class during weekday mornings, beginner and intermediate students in Multimedia Art (ages 10-17) work on multiple projects incorporating a variety of styles, approaches, techniques, and media such as acrylic paint, oil pastels, charcoal, and watercolors. Topics such as composition, perspective, and dimension are addressed at appropriate levels for students in this mixed-ability level class. Small class sizes ensure personal attention from the Art Teacher and focus on supporting individual skill and knowledge building. Each session throughout the academic year has a different theme, so students will have fresh experiences and build upon their skills each time they enroll. Student Artworks will be selected and on display for Studio Exhibitions throughout the academic year.

Intermediate & Advanced Students Afterschool
This Program is designed for Art students who have demonstrated skills, focus, and maturity beyond a Beginner level. Our students are typically, but not always, in their upper-middle or high school years. Some are interested in developing, building, or expanding their portfolio, perhaps for application into schools of Art or Design. Others come to the course with an eye towards working with other students with a similar focus, interest, or skill level in Art.

AFTERSCHOOL MULTIMEDIA
Sewing Art Class
Students in this class (ages 13-17) practice machine sewing and a bit of hand sewing skills while creating fun and useful projects. Lessons will include sewing machine anatomy & safe operation, essential hand stitches, fabric properties, seam awareness, steam pressing, marking and cutting fabric with a rotary cutter & shears, basic measuring for drafting simple shapes, working with patterns and templates, construction planning, finishing techniques, & mistake recovery. Small class sizes ensure personal attention from Sewing Teacher Najah Carroll and focus on supporting individual skill and knowledge building.

Attendance policy: Due to the nature and continuous presentation and refinement of new skills and techniques covered in these program, we ask that students do their very best to attend all classes within a session. At the end of the session, there will be a makeup opportunity for anyone who has missed a class for whatever reason within that session.  We will no longer be issuing credits or refunds when two or more classes are missed due to student schedule conflicts or illness. Students who are aware that they might miss two or more classes should discuss the situation with the Studio prior to registering for the class.
