Academic Drawing and Painting for Advanced Students

This Program is designed for Art Students who have demonstrated skills, focus, and maturity beyond an intermediate level. Our students are typically, but not always, in their upper-middle or high school years. They are interested in developing, building, or expanding their portfolio, perhaps for application into schools of Art or Design. Some students join the course with an eye towards working with other students who have a similar focus, interest, or skill level in Art.

This program is focused on fundamental aspects of visual art such as composition, proportions, perspectives, volume and color theory. Gypsum models and still life composition as well as painting with acrylic, watercolor and oil will be used for enriching student’s art experience.

This course requires a portfolio review for new students. If you would like to register your young Artist, please email us at art@monroesstreetstudio.com. Please include your child’s name and up to six samples of their art work.
