Play with Clay: Summer Ceramics Camp 2024
Monroe Street Studio offers an exciting course for children who are happy to immerse their hands in clay and enjoy creating fun projects like sculptures or pottery.
Students will learn about the entire process of hand-built pottery making, including modeling, glazing, and firing.
They will have an opportunity to glaze a pre-made bisque and take home finished shiny masterpiece fired in a kiln.
Please notice, that clay artwork needs to stay at the studio for up to 3 weeks until it is fully dried and fired. Pickup-up dates will be announced during the workshop.
The artwork can be finished at home by painting with acrylic and sealing with lacquer for a shiny finish.
NOTE: Students should bring a bottle of water and lunch. Healthy snack will be provided.

Glass Mosaic Masterpieces: Summer Mosaic Camp 2024
Glass Mosaics have been used all throughout history to create stunning and intricate designs. During this 4-day camp, our students will become familiar with the rich history of Glass Mosaic art, and will design and create their own unique, functional, state-of-the-art masterpieces on a terra cotta plate which can be used as a bird feeder or bird bath and decorate your garden for long time. Students will also discover new horizons in creativity by using resin to design a unique mosaic masterpiece!
Students should bring a packed lunch and drink. Healthy snack will be provided.
Safety Note: Our students will be working with pre-cut glass materials and will learn how to safely handle their materials under the supervision of an experienced instructor.

Art is Fun Summer Camp for Ages 5-7
Perfect for children 5-7 years old. Your little Artist will have fun around the Studio getting experience with acrylic paint, watercolor, oil pastel, dry pastel, charcoal, and markers! Painting, drawing, clay sculpting, printmaking, and even more will be available for exploring. In our professional art studio your child will be busy in the most creative way!

Up-cycling / 3D Summer Camp
Summer Fun Creating Up-cycled Art In Our Camp for Youth (Ages 10 and Up)
Dive into the world of creative reuse at our Summer Upcycling and Re-imagined Art Workshop! This class is perfect for young artists who love to explore and create. We’ll transform discarded or unused materials into dazzling works of art, giving old items a vibrant new life. Here’s what we’ve planned for our young creators:
– Lego Reimagined: Bring your old Lego pieces to life in a whole new way! Craft an eye-catching, abstract three-dimensional art piece. Feel free to bring your own Lego collection and turn it into a personalized masterpiece.
– Cardboard Architects: Step into the shoes of an architect and construct a charming model of a ferry house using cardboard. Learn the basics of structural design and enjoy building your whimsical creation.
– Magic of 3D Printing: Ever wondered how 3D printers work? Get up close with this fascinating technology and see firsthand how amazing three-dimensional objects are crafted right before your eyes.
– Natural Collages: Create stunning collages using natural materials like driftwood, sea glass, shells, and stones. Discover the beauty of organic art as you assemble materials gathered from nature into beautiful compositions.

At Monroe Street Studio, we believe that the art-making process should be fun, educational, and a safe place for students to try new things! In this 3-day workshop, students will get to create their own Acrylic Pour Painting masterpieces, becoming familiar with at least 4 different techniques. The result of this “alchemical” process is always surprising, colorful, magical, and exciting! Students will complete and take home up to 4 paintings on canvas for proud display.

Unique Fashion Week: Summer Fashion Workshop 2023
Fashion is all around us, and this summer we want our students to confidently express their style in unique and functional ways! This 4-day workshop will encourage students of all skill levels to design and create using different techniques for making wearable and personalized clothing and accessories. We wil introduce students to the beautiful craft of crocheting and knitting as well. Sewing skills are not required, but certainly welcomed! Students should bring a packed lunch and drink.
For fashion enthusiasts, finished wearables can be documented with a studio photoshoot. The Workshop will end the week with an extravagant Henna party!

Build-A-Stuffie: Summer Sewing Workshop 2023
The coziest stuffed friends are the ones made with love! In this 4-day workshop, students (ages 8+) will practice hand sewing and design skills to create their own stuffed creations using their imagination and a variety of quality materials. Students will learn about sewing tool safety, essential hand stitches, marking and cutting fabric, and basic measuring and drafting. Your children will also have a teacher-assisted tour of the sewing machine. Students will share inspiring ideas with each other and be able to take home their own handmade fluffy friends! Classes are kept small (4-student max.) to ensure safety and abundant attention from the instructor.

Eco-Friendly Fairy House: Summer Design Workshop 2022
Monroe Street Studio will have a bit of magic this summer! Using the power of imagination, students in this 4-day workshop (ages 10+) will design and create their own mythical architecture projects from recycled and repurposed materials such as egg cartons, empty glass containers, cardboard boxes, and more. Students will learn how to reduce waste in the environment in creative ways!
Magical Fairy Homes, Sinister Witch Huts, Smurf Mushroom Houses, and other similar charming and spellbinding homes will be offered as subjects to explore their architectural skills! Our young architects will design and produce detailed decorations to breathe life into their fantastic residences. Students will focus their efforts exclusively and intensively on Learning, Creating, and Celebrating Art, with 1-2 short breaks during the workshop. Students should bring a packed lunch and drink.

Stunning Suncatchers: Summer Stained Glass Workshop 2022
We love stained glass at Monroe Street Studio and are so excited to offer this Workshop for older students (ages 15+) who are brand new to this art form! In this 4-day workshop, students will learn the stained glass process from beginning to end, and they will complete their own Stained Glass Panel (suncatcher) Project! Taught within our exclusive Glass Art Studio space, our class size is kept small (4 students only), allowing us to focus on safety while having fun with Stained Glass. Students will have 1-2 short breaks during the workshop. Students should bring a packed lunch and drink.
Safety Note: Stained glass involves class cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, and finishing techniques, all of which will be taught with the utmost safety and supervision from an experienced instructor. Tools and equipment are provided, as well as a selection of Stained Glass, solder, copper foil, and flux.

Sustainable Sewing: Summer Sewing Workshop 2022
If your child has ever expressed interest in sewing, fashion, design, or the environment, this workshop may be a perfect fit! Our 4-day Sustainable Sewing Summer Workshop explores environmental art practices, teaching students how they can reduce waste and learn environmentally friendly practices by creating fun and useful projects from recycled/repurposed fabrics. We welcome students of all skill levels to join us and learn essential hand stitches, safe sewing machine operation, steam pressing, working with patterns and templates, and so much more!
Students will work independently and in collaboration with each other, and will receive personal attention from instructors to help make their ideas become reality. There will be 1-2 short breaks during the workshop, and students should bring a packed lunch and drink.

Summer Workshops includes 4 classes. During the Summer, we will not be issuing credits or refunds when one or more classes are missed due to student schedule conflicts or illness.
