Machine Sewing Class for Teenagers After School Ages 13 – 17 Fall I

Students in this class (ages 13-17) practice machine sewing and a bit of hand sewing skills while creating fun and useful projects such as home decor items, wearable accessories, sewn art objects and more. Lessons will include sewing machine anatomy & safe operation, essential hand stitches, fabric properties, seam awareness, steam pressing, marking and cutting fabric with a rotary cutter & shears, basic measuring for drafting simple shapes, working with patterns and templates, construction planning, finishing techniques, & mistake recovery.
