The Program is designed for Art Students who have demonstrated skills, focus, and maturity beyond an intermediate level. Our students are typically, but not always, in their upper-middle or high school years. They are interested in developing, building, or expanding their portfolio in a professional art studio’s creative and encouraging environment.
This program is focused on fundamental aspects of visual art such as composition, proportions, perspectives, volume, and color theory. Gypsum casts and still-life compositions will be used for drawing and painting from the observation. Painting with acrylic watercolor and oil; printmaking with ink and drawing with charcoal. Clay modeling will be used to enrich our student’s art experience.
This course requires a portfolio review for new students. If you would like to register your young Artist, please email us at art@monroesstreetstudio.com. Please include your child’s name and up to six samples of their artwork.
