Up-Cycling Art Class Description:
If you want to contribute to the cleanliness of our environment, then this camp is for you!
In this creative, hands-on class, students will learn how to transform everyday recycled materials into unique works of art. From cartons, glass jars, LEGO pieces, old t-shirts, fabrics, jeans, and more, we’ll explore how to give new life and purpose to discarded items through art.
Students will experiment with sewing, crochet, construction, and mixed media techniques to build functional or decorative pieces.
Bring Your Own Materials:
- Cartons and cardboard
- Glass jars
- LEGO pieces
- Old t-shirts and jeans
Skills Students Will Learn:
- Hand sewing and basic crochet
- Assembly and construction techniques
- Creative reuse and design thinking
Safety Protocol:
Students will use tools like Exacto knives, scissors, needles, cutters, and glue guns under close supervision.
- Safety equipment (like gloves or goggles) will be provided when appropriate.
- Students will receive instruction on tool use and safety procedures before starting each project.
- Respect for tools and workspace will be part of the learning process.
