Event Type

Eligibility: Completion of our Beginner Stained Glass class or sufficient experience working independently in a glass studio. We also offer a one-hour orientation to refresh your skills and knowledge about techniques for $60. Once purchased, our team will contact you to schedule your orientation. Private classes are also available on request.

Cost: $200 for 10 hours (valid for 3 months)

Times Offered:

  • Monday: 10:00 am – noon; 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm
  • Tuesday: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
  • Wednesday: 10:00 am – noon
  • Thursday: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
  • Saturdays: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
  • Studio is closed during Fairfax County public school breaks

Tools are Provided: Grinders, glass cutters, pliers, homasote boards, soldering irons, safety goggles, apron, flux, and scrap glass.

Materials are NOT provided: Glass sheets, foil, solder, chain, jump rings, frames, patina. Some materials are available for purchase on-site.

Safety & Courtesy: You must always wear safety goggles and close-toed shoes. Be mindful of others — ask before playing music.
Storage: Short-term storage provided while working. Projects left untouched for 1 month will be recycled if not claimed.

Scheduling and Arrival: Please text 240-885-9040 a day before to book your visit. Sign in and out at the front desk so we know you are on-site or left the studio. This is for insurance and safety purposes.

Participation Agreement, Liability Waiver & Media Release

Thank you for registering with Monroe Street Studio. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and creative environment for all participants.

By selecting “I’ve read and agree to the Participation Agreement, Liability Waiver & Media Release” during registration, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Participation & Assumption of Risk

Participation in classes, workshops, camps, private events, and other activities offered by Art Center LLC d/b/a Monroe Street Studio (“Monroe Street Studio”) may involve the use of equipment, tools, and materials that present inherent risks of injury or property damage. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Stained glass (glass, lead came, soldering equipment, flux, patinas, chemicals, grinders, glass cutters, and other specialized tools)
  • Sewing (needles, scissors, sewing machines, irons)
  • Painting, drawing, pottery, mosaics, resin art
  • Other art and fine craft materials, tools, and equipment

You acknowledge that you, or the participant you are registering, are able to safely participate in these activities and voluntarily assume all associated risks.

Safety

Participants agree to follow all instructor directions, safety procedures, and studio policies. Monroe Street Studio reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or interferes with the learning experience of others.

Emergency Medical Care

In the event of an accident, illness, or injury, you authorize Monroe Street Studio and its instructors, employees, and representatives to obtain emergency medical treatment if deemed necessary. The participant or parent/legal guardian is responsible for any resulting medical expenses.

Photography & Media Release

Monroe Street Studio regularly photographs and records classes, workshops, camps, parties, and events, including group photographs, for use on its website, social media, newsletters, brochures, advertisements, and other promotional materials. By registering, you grant Monroe Street Studio permission to use photographs and videos in which you or the participant may appear. No identifying personal information, such as a participant’s full name, will be published without additional permission.

If you have a special circumstance regarding photography, please contact the studio before registering.

Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, hold harmless, and indemnify Monroe Street Studio, its owners, members, managers, instructors, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any claims, liabilities, injuries, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in studio activities, except to the extent caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct where applicable law does not permit such a waiver.

Studio Policies

You agree to comply with all Monroe Street Studio policies, including those posted at the studio or published on the Monroe Street Studio website.

Continuing Agreement

This agreement applies to the current registration and to future participation in activities offered by Monroe Street Studio, unless revoked in writing.
